English Neoclassical Giltwood Pedestal

A wonderful English Neoclassical giltwood pedestal.

This antique pedestal has a circular top over the Vitruvian scroll carved frieze, raised on a three strap legs

with a baluster center column on a tripartite plinth base. 

Minor restoration to the gold.

The base was faux painted a greenish color but when we started to excavate it we ran across the original

faux lapis lazuli which we left alone just filling in where it was missing.

The pedestal came with a replaced marble top the color of tan, so we colored it to match the

base.
