Roxbury case Massachusetts Federal inlaid tall case clock. The dial with original paper label, “S. CURTIS, CLOCK DIAL MANUFACTURER, BOSTON.” The arched bonnet is surmounted by the original pierced fretwork (one tiny chip) and plinths with three original brass ball and spire finials. The astragal glazed door opens to the original painted dial with paint and gilt heightened spandrels, original hands with crescent moon cutouts, sweep second hand, and calendar dial all in wonderful untouched original condition. The bonnet is flanked by fluted columns with brass capitals and bases. The rectangular molded door is a highly figured mahogany panel with contrasting stringing and inlaid cross banded border, flanked by fluted quarter columns. The base is also a highly figured panel with a crossbanded border. The French feet are all original with a wonderful scalloped skirt.
