Windsor Arm Chair

No. A

Reproduction Windsor stick or spindle back arm chair. This chair is in Ash wood. The Yew finish is a warm amber color. This chair has a Crinoline stretcher ( the curved stretcher was an extra option on period chairs that allowed room for crinoline skirts). The seats are made from a single plank the same way as the originals. These chairs are made for us in an old 19th century brick factory building in a small town in rural England. They are made completely by hand in the same meticulous method used for 300 years and almost as much time is spent making the 'surface' correct. They tend to be somewhat larger with seats so well carved that they're very comfortable (We refer to them as 2 hour chairs rather than 15 minute chairs). These chairs have been previously available in sycamore as well, which is now discontinued. The sycamore stock on hand will be the end of that variation.
