Superb Boston card table with lunette inlay. Attributed to John and Thomas Seymour (or equivalent shop). Wonderful fluted legs and “flame” crotch mahogany skirt. John Seymour was an English trained cabinet maker so you find "English" type construction details in his work, for instance the is table has a half thickness fixed leaf that has small pieces of mahogany glued enderneath around the edge to conserve wood (the joint is hidden with the edge rosewood crossbanding), the unusual curved and fluted corners are Regency in style and the lunnette inlay was used by the Seymours.
