No. WCH13708

Excellent New York inlaid mahogany sideboard signed by,  “Gilbert Williams,  Newburgh     September  25th   1806”.
The top is a 24 inch board with the edge cross banded and inlaid.  All the drawers and doors are veneered with “flame” mahogany and are line inlaid with ovolo corners.  The legs are Hepplewhite square tapered and the front four are cuffed.

Wonderful condition and form.

At R. Jorgensen Antiques we look at the secondary surfaces of important American furniture with ultraviolet and infrared light. We sold this sideboard 25 years ago (before we did this) we now have it back and this time we looked underneath and with infrared were able to see a pencil inscription that we missed the first time.
