Coquilla Nut Pomander in the shape of an egg with “engine turnings” decorations. In the eighteen century, they figured out how to quickly turn these reddish brown nuts into repeated concentric decorative circles. The geared jig that was used in doing it made the process to be called “engine turnings.”
