Decorated red and black painted tole canister with gilt framed portrait of children, surrounded by birds, flowers and gilt decoration. The top is a mechanical roller with spice names. By moving the roller the spice selected can be changed. They include “Pepper, Cloves, Cr Tartar, All Spice, Cinnamon, Ginger, Mustard, and Baking Powder”. The cannister has both a top lid and a lower cylinder opening with original knob.
