A truely wonderful "Flame" mahogany and grain painted chest of drawers. Double deck top with four drawers, the top drawers are swelled or torus (as are the top drawers in the base). The scrolled backsplash retains a gilt stencil basket of leaf sprigs (note the brass bed covers used as rossetts!). All the clear pressed floral design Sandwich glass knobs are original as are the fruit decorated brass key plates. The full turned posts, the high turned legs and the sides and tops of the case are red and black simulated rosewood grain painted while the drawers fronts and face of the case is veneered.
An amazing American high country, Greek Revival statement!
